Created exclusively to commemorate the inaugural Youth Olympic Games held in Singapore in 2010, this Pilot Commemorative Edition Blossoming Orchid fountain pen is limited to just 100 pieces worldwide. The orchid, Singapore’s national flower, is rendered in vibrant Hira Maki-e with coloured urushi lacquer, gold powder and flowing Olympic-coloured ribbons, expressing the ideals of youth, excellence and aspiration. Pilot was the Official Writing Instruments Sponsor of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

For collectors, its rarity and highly specific provenance make it an especially distinctive Pilot/Namiki Yukari commemorative. Created specifically for Singapore’s historic hosting of the first Youth Olympic Games, the combination of a 100-piece worldwide limitation, Singapore-exclusive commemorative theme and traditional Japanese maki-e craftsmanship gives the Blossoming Orchid considerable collectible significance. This is a particularly compelling piece for collectors of Pilot and Namiki, Japanese maki-e, or significant Singapore commemorative memorabilia.
